Welcome to all new and returning Wolcott Tech families for the 2026-27 school year.

Our school year begins on Friday, August 28th for grades 9 – 11.  Senior mentors will be in school that day to assist with freshman orientation.  All other seniors will report to school on Monday, August 31st.  Our school day begins at 7:15 and ends at 2:04.  Grades 9 and 12 will begin in academics and grades 10 and 11 will report to their trade/technology areas for the first cycle.  Students should be in the appropriate uniform when they report.  Visit the Wolcott Tech uniform webpage for odering information. Questions on bus transportation should be directed to your local school district.  Lunch and breakfast will be free for all students for the entire school year.

You should have received an e-mail recently from our central office regarding PowerSchool registration.  This registration process serves as an update on important information for returning families and as an initial information entry for new students.  If you have questions on this PowerSchool registration process, please call the School Counseling office at 860-496-5318.

Please review the summer reading program. Note that incoming grade 9 students have a slightly different requirement than other grades.  Every grade 9 student will be issued a Chromebook.  Additional information on the use of Chromebooks and other digital tools will follow.  Any school supplies needed for particular classes will be shared by teachers once school starts.

This will not be the only communication regarding the upcoming school year.  We will be sending out more information until the start of school.  All communication from the school will be e-mailed to families and students and posted on the school’s website.  Also, the school website contains information on the school calendar, athletics, staff contacts and more.   Please contact the school if you have questions.

RShellmanI believe that when the parents/guardians, community members and school faculty work in concert to provide students with exemplary role models and to maintain high expectations for performance, all children can be successful. As a result, I am committed to meeting the needs of all students while demanding the best from them. Excellence doesn’t come easily, but rather through hard work. I look forward to working with all members of the Oliver Wolcott community to ensure that school is a safe, orderly, and inviting place that provides a quality, world-class education to each and every one of our students

Sincerely,

Richard Shellman
