Seniors at Wolcott Tech celebrate future employment with Career Signing Day

Dozens of parents, students, employers, and industry partners gathered at Oliver Wolcott Technical High School in Torrington, Connecticut last Wednesday for a Career Signing Event and celebration.
27 seniors from Oliver Wolcott Tech were honored as they signed contracts for full-time positions after graduation with their future employers, all of which they’ve worked with through Work-Based Learning.
The students were among the following programs at Wolcott Tech; Carpentry, Collision, Repair and Refinishing, Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical Design and Engineering Technology, Plumbing, Heating and Cooling, and Precision Machining Technology.
Employers included; JD Building and Remodeling LLC, White Dog Woodworking, Gravel’s Automotive Concepts, Sharon Autobody, CT Auto Wholesalers, East Side Electric, Sharon Electric LLC, Bloomfield Electric Co., Altek Electronics Inc., Perry Technology, West State Mechanical Inc., Carlson Hearing, Escape Plumbing & Heating LLC, William Perotti & Sons LLC, East Hartford Heating and Cooling, C and C Plumbing and Heating Inc., Pelletier Mechanical Services LLC, VanAllen Plumbing, DRT Aerospace LLC, Truelove & Maclean, H&T Battery Components, The Carby Corporation, Seitz LLC, and Utitec Inc.
The students also heard congratulatory remarks from several industry partners like Owen Golding and Keri Valente from the CT Department of Labor, State Representative Michelle Cook, and Donald Shubert and Melissa Thompson from the Connecticut Construction Industries Association – CCIA
