Oliver Wolcott Technical High School won 1st Place in the Outstanding Chapter of all 17 Technical High Schools bringing home a 6-foot Trophy!

This is FOUR consecutive years running and is a testament to the caliber and dedication of our students to be the best of the best in the school, CTECS District, and the community!

 

We also have won the national Chapter Excellence Program (CEP) for the FOURTH year in a row, and we are eagerly awaiting national scores to see if we will be selected in the top 24 as a Model of Excellence! 

 

I would like to announce that out of 52 participants OWTS had 38 make the stage as the best of the best top 6 in Connecticut:

  • 4 students brought home medals in the top 6!
  • 6 students brought home 3rd place trophies!
  • 6 students brought home 2nd place trophies!
  • 22 students brought home 1st place trophies!
  • Our Electronics Seniors SWEPT the Mobile Robotics Competition with 1st , 2nd , and 3rd place in the state!

 

The 21 students going to Atlanta, GA to compete nationally and represent OWTS and Connecticut are:

  • Alex Beale, 1st place in T-Shirt Design! (Her T-Shirt will also be produced and worn on the journey to and from Atlanta, GA by TEAM CT!)
  • Brandon Hovanak, 1st Place Plumbing!
  • Evan Cowette, Zoey Chapulis, & Jazmine Cote, 1st Place Promotional Bulletin Board!
  • Kayla Guaillazaca-Lata, 1st Place Career Essentials Carpentry! (Going to nationals in Atlanta as a voting Delegate!)
  • Lucas Shilling & Walter Keutmann – 1st Place Mobile Robotics!
  • Evan Cowette, 1st Place Spelling! (Going to nationals in Atlanta as a voting Delegate!)
  • Ethan Moore, 1st place Carpentry! (3 Years in a row!)   
  • Charlie Stevens, Kamrynn D’Angelo, Rosco Schaer, & Paige Quartiero, 1st place Health Knowledge Bowl!
  • Alyssa Stahovec-Duntz, Anthony Knapp, & Anita Budge – 1st place Community Service! (2 Years in a row!)
  • Luis Martinez, Karlson Owour, Jack Darby, Keegan Connolly, & Lucas Newholm, 1st place Quiz Bowl! (as a Junior TEAM!!!)
